Our New 5000 Sq Ft Wynwood Showroom

Welcome to our new workshop-showroom in the Wynwood Art District! We moved down the street from our first location into a 5,000 sq ft warehouse located at 23 NE 25th St., Miami, FL 33137. We are quickly emerging and gaining a reputation for our custom furniture work within the design community and are working on commercial and luxury residential properties throughout the world with focus here in the U.S. Some commercial projects include New River Village in Ft. Lauderdale, Aloft Hotel Miami Beach, Red Ginger restaurant Miami Beach, and Midtown 2 in Midtown Miami. We can’t tell you which luxury residential properties we have worked with as we respect our customers privacy, but we can tell you they are the who’s who in many different industries!

We are recieving materials constantly and creating beautifully new and creative works that serve as functional art. Big live-edge slabs up to 29′ is how one way we separate ourselves from the competition, but we also produce 3-10′ tables regularly. Desks, benches, chairs, lamps, stools, cabanas, rattan furniture, and petrified wood are all items we can provide you with. Please contact us to schedule a visit as we’d love to show you our place and designs.

Old is the New New

Antique Boat Chain Table Petrified Wood Coffee TableWe have recently designed two new pieces by working with material ranging from 100 years old to 20 million years old!

Our antique anchor chain coffee table uses heavy-link boat chain welded into a free-flowing form that suspends a Stone Effect Suar wooden slab. The chain’s beauty comes from many decades of exposure to the elements. The ‘Stone Effect’ top comes from an elaborate six-step process which includes hot coals. Dimensions 33-35″ W x 69″ L x 20″ H

The second piece is a coffee table that merges one of our rustic petrified wood slabs with reclaimed solid teak beams as legs.   Dimensions 35″ W x 48″ L x 21″ H

Both pieces epitomize a unique beauty that can only be achieved through extended periods of time; rest assured, they will continue to survive another eon unlike some “Ikeafied” furniture out there!

Doro Receives Miami Design Magazine Press

TheDoro Designs in Miami Design Winter 2013re is a nice mention of Doro Designs in the winter issue of Miami Design and Architectural Review.

To quote some of its eloquent words, “Move over painted, stained and lacquered finished as natural wood artfully pays homage to Old World craftsmanship aided by New World technologies.

We could not have said it better!

Doro Designs showcased at Ft Lauderdale Boat Show

Doro Designs was invited to display a dozen of our pieces at this years Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Aboard the SeaFair Yacht, seven VIP exhibit booths featured a Doro Designs custom table and the art on the walls were provided by our partner Fortom Gallery. Also, we showcased our unique ‘Kamen’ coffee table and two live-edge, wooden lamps in the floating office of Wider Yachts.

Our newest piece designed with antique boat chain obviously fit right into the scene.

As always, there were many rave comments and a couple sales that definitely make the unloading from the third level of a 240′ mega-yacht much easier!
